BIOGRAPHY

I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics on the clinician scholar pathway at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle WA. My appointment includes largely clinical work in the division of Pediatric Rheumatology. I serve rheumatology patients at two clinical sites in Seattle and provide outreach care in Anchorage Alaska at the Alaska Native Medical Center and Providence Alaska Medical Center. Additionally I serve as a provider in the Seattle Children’s rheumatologyophthalmology, and rheumatology-nephrology combined clinics.

My research interests to complement my clinical work include regional and international collaborative projects focusing on juvenile idiopathic arthritis. I completed a masters in Epidemiology during my fellowship training as a NIH T32 funded fellow, and my work evaluating predictors of disease activity in patients with early juvenile idiopathic arthritis ignited my interest in how pediatric rheumatologists evaluate and employ patient disease outcome measures. The focus of my early career research has been based in outcome measures, both patient and provider reported, within the juvenile arthritis population including how we evaluate, measure, and report such measures. My current projects include collaborative work through the CARRA JIA work group and the OMERACT JIA work group.
